Responsive design is a fancy name for cross-device design. I use CSS3 media queries and a little bit of JavaScript to make sure the website looks great and functions properly on all different devices and more specifically the various sizes. In all my web projects, I impliment responsive design. This is because we access multiple websites from our smartphones everyday and not having a mobile specific website is considered a poor standard and not many people will browse large websites on tiny screens.
I design websites with loving and tender care. I tend to go for the simple and clean approach rather than the busy and cluttered approach. If there's a lot happening on the website, it just looks too busy and users will be put off by the clutter, many perhaps will leave the website because of it. Therefore, it is my duty to ensure my websites are designed with the user in mind and it is clutter-free and looks simple but appealing to the eyes. Clean and simple websites aren't just appealing to future-customers, it's also appealing to the company too, because the website promotes a feeling of professionalism, whereas cluttered websites just look rushed and there's no mannor of professionalism what so ever.

Eastfield Joinery was designed and built for my Father's joinery business as an end-of-college project. Since it's primary design back in 2012, Eastfield Joinery has undertaken some drastic improvements. The website is clean and simple, and is easy to navigate in a user friendly manner.
This is the original website I designed, as you can see it is relatively basic, and lacking the appropiate information to enable it to be found in search engines. It relies on 3rd party applications such as Flash Player for the galleries to work, and JotForm for the contact form: this was not at all ideal, but a basic funtion of a website, that my skills would not allow at that point.
After I graduated college I taught myself more and more skills. JavaScript, jQuery and basic use of php was the main things I taught myself in this period. Thus, the website was updated to include new and improved features. Adding responsive design into the mix. This version seems better, but still buggy since the media queries weren't working properly.
As my new-founded skills progressed, I rebuilt the website from scratch, incorporating Twitter Bootstrap and including new web technologies I learnt. It has made it's way to the top of Google listings with most of the keywords and I am really pleased with the outcome.

Before his Graphic Design course at college, together we created a very basic website via Google Sites. It wasn't doing the family business any justice. But now, Stuart produced this wonderful piece of work for a college project, and it keeps getting better with every update.

FCAQ Geolotech was designed and built for my friend's business. The website is clean, simple and elegant; with it's ease of use and simplistic design its easy to understand what the company is about. I have learned lots of new skills building this website; it was my first experiment with jQuery, php and MySQL and it allowed me to gain some crucial coding skills.
There are minimal jQuery parts on the website, however it was a stepping stone to advance my skills; which can be seen more thoroughly on Eastfield Joinery's website. The most notable feature on FCAQ Geolotech's website, is the News page - where I created a secure admin page for the client to update the page by themselves. It relies heavily on php and MySQL.
